MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

GRAHAM SHIELS

Graham Shiels is a Yale School of Drama graduate and a working actor with over 20 years of professional experience. He recently wrapped a top-of-show Guest Star role on Taylor Sheridan’s Special Ops: Lioness (Paramount+).

 

A sought-after celebrity acting coach in Los Angeles, Graham works with Series Regulars and rising talent alike. On screen, he was a Series Regular on Syfy’s Olympus and a Recurring top-of-show Guest Star on 9-1-1: Lone Star (FOX), Truth Be Told (AppleTV+), True Blood (HBO), Arrow (The CW), and Lab Rats (Disney XD). He has booked over 30 network Guest Star roles, including Star Trek: Picard (CBS All Access) opposite Sir Patrick Stewart.

 

Graham’s film credits include major Hollywood blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, and Yes Man alongside Jim Carrey. His theater roots run deep, with performances at The Mark Taper Forum (directed by Tony Award-winner Brian Bedford), South Coast Repertory (world premiere by Boardwalk Empire creator Howard Korder), California Shakespeare Theatre, and Yale Repertory Theatre.

 

Throughout his career, Graham has shared the screen and stage with Oscar winners Holly Hunter, Marcia Gay Harden, and Anna Paquin, as well as numerous Tony and Emmy Award-winners.

ALEX ROSS

Alex Ross is the Director of Graham Shiels Studios’ NYC Campus. Since 2019, actors coaching with Alex have booked roles across nearly every major television network. He has worked alongside Academy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning directors, including Steven Soderbergh, Mike Medavoy, Kenny Leon, and Casey Nicholaw.

 

As an active performer, Alex understands the modern casting landscape and maintains strong relationships with casting professionals from Los Angeles to London. His career coaching clients have signed with top agencies and management firms like KMR and Luber Roklin, consistently leveling up in network television auditions—and even launching their own production companies.

 

Alex’s acting credits span TV, film, and theater. On screen, he’s appeared in Logan Lucky, Bull, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS: LA, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Queen of the South, The Long Road Home, and Revolution. On stage, he was the Elder Price standby in The Book of Mormon on Broadway and the Taylor/Byrd/Wilcox standby in the national tour of A Soldier’s Play. His voiceover work includes Smite, One Piece, and Black Butler.

 

Alex holds a music degree in vocal performance from Oklahoma City University. In 2024, he will appear in supporting roles in two major motion pictures.

Work on brand new material every week--learn to prepare effectively. Get on your feet every week--acting is a visceral art form, not visual or auditory. Get on camera every other week--feedback is essential to your craft. When you can audition with confidence you will earn more and more chances to play!
